Agapo Okanya Harriet Course: Mentor: mvuletrust

I am from Kaberamaido District in Eastern Uganda. I am the first born in our family and my mother was the first wife to my father. I am followed by 3 boys and 5 girls making a total of 8 children from my mother. When my parents divorced, I went to live with my grandmother. Unfortunately my mother died when I was in primary seven. Luckily, I had passed my primary leaving examination. My father then enrolled me in senior one and managed to find school fees for the first term. After that my father could not afford to provide for my education any further and I dropped out.

In mid-2006, through my friends from school, I was told that there was an organisation that was sponsoring girls who have dropped out of school because of lack of fees. I quickly applied and I was successful. I went to a boarding school for both ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels and then to Makerere University and in 2014, I qualified with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Mvule Trust came into my life at the right time, I must say. They picked me from a state where I was now giving up on everything. Mvule Trust made my life easy, as they visited me every school term, provided me with scholastic materials and moral support. I dream to be a well-known woman who will give back to the society. To be a Business Administrator and owning my- own business.
